Prevention Program
Our prevention methodology is based on a combination of research and more than thirty years of experience in working with addicted individuals and their families.
Our Prevention program is designed to impact at-risk families through eight to ten weeks of parent, teen, child, and pre-school classes that emphasize:
- Communication skills
- Emotion management
- Problem solving
- Positive parenting/family practices.
Communities Empowering parents
Project Reality's “Communities Empowering Parents" (CEP) curriculum addresses impact factors associated with future substance abuse in children by addressing prevention principles by reducing risk factors and strengthening protective factors in children and their families. The strategy is to mobilize local neighborhoods, schools, and communities to empower parents by training them in behavioral parenting techniques, family management, relationship building, communication skills, age-appropriate development expectations and setting clear standards and expectations regarding alcohol, tobacco and other drug use. Project Reality strives to maintain and strengthen our partnership with the Salt Lake county community.
